Give a friend access to your server without sharing your account
Don't give them your password. With “Friends”, your friend signs in to the panel with their own NapNodes account and does only what you allow. You remove their access in one click whenever you like.
You don't need it to play
To join and play on your server, your friend only needs the address. “Friends” is for the panel: so they can start it when you're not around, use the console or help you manage it.
To decide who can play, each game has its own way: in Minecraft, the whitelist in “Settings” → “Players”; in Valheim, the password and the whitelist; in Project Zomboid, making it private.
No server yet? Game servers from €6 a month, no contract and a full refund within 72 hours. Or create a free server, no card needed.
What they can do: the three roles
“Can start it”: start, stop and restart. So your friend can open it whenever they want to play.
“Moderator”: the above, plus the console (commands) and viewing files and backups.
“Manages it with you”: everything except deleting it, changing its plan or giving access to others. Files, backups, schedules and settings.
How to give them access to your server
They need a NapNodes account
Your friend needs their own account, with a confirmed email. If they don't have one, they can create it: it's free.
Open “Friends”
In your server's menu, or with “Give a friend access” in “Home”.
Type their email and pick the role
The email their account uses. Choose what they can do and press “Give access”.
Have them sign in
At panel.napnodes.com with their account. They'll see your server in “My servers”.
Changing or removing access
“With access” lists everyone who has it. Change someone's role in their drop-down (it saves straight away) or press “Remove”: they lose access on the spot.
Access is per server: if you have several, you give it on each one.
On the free server
The free server only starts with its owner's “Start”, because it goes through the free server's queue; started any other way, it stops by itself within a minute. So start it yourself. With a plan, your friend starts it whenever they like with “Can start it”.
Frequently asked questions
Does my friend have to pay to get into my panel?
No. They need a NapNodes account, which is free, with the email you type in.
Can my friend delete my server?
No. Not even with “Manages it with you”: deleting it, changing its plan and giving access to others is only up to you.
How do I remove a friend's access?
In “Friends”, press “Remove” next to their email. They lose it immediately.
Do we need “Friends” to play together?
No. To play, the server's address is enough; “Friends” is for letting them use the panel.
Shall we set it up for you?
Game servers from €6 a month, never oversold: your RAM is yours alone. And if you'd rather start without paying, there's a free server, no card needed.
