SteamID64 finder
Paste your Steam profile link, your custom URL name or any form of your ID (STEAM_0:1:…, [U:1:…]). We'll give you your SteamID64 and the other forms, with the lines ready to make you an admin on a Valheim server.
What it's for on a Valheim server
On a Valheim dedicated server nobody becomes an admin from inside the game: you write the SteamID64 in a text file, one per line.
- adminlist.txt: the admins, who can use the console (F5) to kick and ban.
- bannedlist.txt: the banned players. It also fills itself in when you use “ban” in the console.
- permittedlist.txt: if anyone is listed, only those accounts can join (on top of knowing the password).
On NapNodes you edit them in the panel's Files (if one doesn't exist, create it with that exact name). Do it with the server stopped and start it afterwards: the server reads them when it starts. For Xbox or Game Pass players (crossplay) the SteamID64 doesn't work: their ID is different, and F2 in-game shows it. It's all covered in “Running a Valheim server” (in Spanish).
Frequently asked questions
What is a SteamID64?
The number that identifies your Steam account: 17 digits starting with 7656. It doesn't change even if you change your name, which is why servers use it to know who's an admin or who's banned.
Where's my profile link?
In Steam, click your name at the top and then “Profile”; in the app, right-click anywhere on the profile and choose “Copy Page URL”. It's steamcommunity.com/id/yourname or steamcommunity.com/profiles/ followed by a number.
Does it work if my profile is private?
Yes. The SteamID64 shows even if the profile is private; all that's needed is for the account to exist.
Is it the same as the friend code?
It's the same account written another way. Steam's friend code is the account number, the last number of the SteamID3 ([U:1:…]); the SteamID64 is that number plus 76561197960265728.
Do you store what I look up?
No. If you paste a number or a link with a number, the maths happens in your browser. If you paste a custom name, we ask Steam at that moment and the answer is forgotten after ten minutes.
No server yet?
NapNodes has a free Valheim server, no card needed and with crossplay already on: you start it when you want to play and it stops by itself when nobody's on. If you want it running all the time, you move to a plan with the same world.
