Slime chunk finder

Type your Minecraft Java world seed and where you are: you'll see the chunks where slimes spawn in green, with their coordinates, so you build the farm in the right spot first time. It's worked out in your browser, the same way the game does it.

The X and Z where you are (press F3 in game). The map centres on it.

Type the seed and the slime chunks around you will show up here.

Where do I find my seed?

Type /seed in the game chat (you need to be an operator) or in the server console. If it was chosen when the world was created, it's also in level-seed in server.properties.

Minecraft Java only (Paper and Spigot too). In Bedrock, slime chunks are different.

Frequently asked questions

What is a slime chunk?

A 16×16-block area where slimes can spawn underground, below Y=40 and at any light level. Roughly one chunk in ten is one. Outside them, slimes only spawn in swamps and mangrove swamps, on the surface and in low light.

How do I find my world's seed?

With the /seed command in chat (you need to be an operator or have cheats on) or in the server console. If the seed was typed in when the world was created, it's also in level-seed in server.properties.

Does it work for Bedrock?

No. In Minecraft Bedrock, slime chunks don't depend on the seed and are different. This tool is for Java, including servers running Paper or Spigot.

I'm in a slime chunk and no slimes spawn. Why?

They have to spawn below Y=40 and with room (big ones need a 3×3-block space). They don't spawn on Peaceful, you have to be more than 24 blocks away, and if there are lots of dark caves nearby, other mobs fill the cap and fewer slimes spawn.

To play in that world with your friends: how to move your world to a server (in Spanish), with the same seed and the same slime chunks.
