What it needs: 6 GB
We recommend the Iron plan (6 GB, €12/month). A classic modpack with a group of friends. It's a light version: with only a few mods, the Stone plan. The RAM is yours alone: we don't oversell it. If it falls short, you move to a bigger plan without reinstalling anything.
How to set it up
Get the server
The Iron plan or whichever you like. It's created in a couple of minutes.
In the panel, Mods & plugins → Server type
Pick Forge and version 1.12.2, and press Change.
Wait a couple of minutes
Forge 1.12.2 is installed with Java 8, which is what this version asks for, and it starts on its own. A backup is made first if you have room for it.
Add your mods
From Mods & plugins: you search Modrinth only among the ones that work on your loader and your version, and install them in one click, with their dependencies. Anything that isn't on Modrinth you upload in Files.

Which Java does Minecraft 1.12.2 need?
Java 8. The panel sets it up on its own when you pick the version: nothing to touch. For other versions, which Java each one needs.
Can I change the version or the type later?
Yes, from the same place and with your world. Whatever doesn't work on the new type (plugins on a mod server, or the other way round) is set aside, without deleting anything. What you can't do is go down a version with a world that has already been played: the game can't read a newer world.
Do my players need anything?
Minecraft Java 1.12.2 with Forge and the same mods. Every modded server has its own page, napnodes.com/jugar/…, with the modpack ready for the launcher.
